the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that this Board

have received an application from the Crown Agents for the

Colonies for assistance in selecting three Lighthouse

Keepers for Gap Rock Light House, Hong Kong (Papers marked

Hong Kong

As questions of expenditure from the Mercantile

Marine Fund arise in connection with several points in the

case which will involve reference to the Board of Trade,

this Board would be glad to learn whether the proposed

arrangement is one which the Colonial Office will recognize,

and whether the men during their absence from this country

will be regarded as serving under that Department.
